Greg Reporting Live

Videos are certainly a lot of fun to create and post onto the web. Over the years, I have add them here and there.

On the left is a 2023 Recruiting video I made for my last recruitment season.

Tarantulas All Over Me

Of all the videos I have created, I keep going back to this one over and over.

While living in Cambodia, I asked my friend Pov, to take me to the famous "spider eating bus stop" north of Phnom Penh. Watch!

Jazz in the Desert

Next, watch the first music videos I have ever been a part of. One took place in the middle of the Saudi Arabian Desert! The others, on a professional stage.

Dhahran Big Band - Sing, Sing, Sing

Dhahran Big Band - Sing, Sing, Sing

The Dhahran Big Band is delighted to share our first ever music video. Here's the classic swing tune “Sing, Sing, Sing” coming to you from Saudi Arabia. We hope you enjoy it ........................................... The Story Behind the Band - In late 2012, a few like-minded, adventurous individuals living in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia thought that it would be fun to put together a band to play jazz and swing music. They spread the word- and on January 20, 2013, eleven musicians joined together for the first rehearsal of the Dhahran Big Band. Some of the members of this newly formed group had not picked up their instruments for 20 years or more. The early musical efforts were enthusiastic, if not technically perfect. Despite this, the shared love of great music and the joy of getting to play together helped to soften some of the rough edges. The band played its first gig on the evening of 17 April 2013 in a private garden party on the Saudi Aramco compound. Soon, word began to spread, and before long the group of eleven grew to the size of a classic big band: 5 saxophones, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, and a 4-piece rhythm section. The band rehearsed every week on Sunday evenings and more gigs came their way. With time, practice, and the addition of 2 vocalists, the repertoire and proficiency of the group grew. Over the next few years, the Dhahran Big Band played many more shows, including events at the British Embassy in Riyadh and at the first ever jazz festival in Saudi Arabia at KAUST in Jeddah. The current line-up of the band includes about 22 musicians who hail from Canada, France, Germany, Norway, Portugal, the UK and the USA. Some of the early members have departed, but the band continues to get stronger. In the winter of 2018 they did their first-ever professional recording session, and 2019 will see the release of several music videos. From its humble beginnings, the Dhahran Big Band has grown to become a proficient and thoroughly entertaining musical group. They are a large, slightly crazy extended family that loves to play great jazz and swing, and to share it with their audiences. It has been a fascinating journey, and they can’t wait to see what happens next.
