Before anybody judges what's in my cup

I'm just a plain ol' beer drinker but after ten years of college I have pretty much tasted every bottle on the shelf and most mixed drinks you can think of

So listen up

I have spent a damn near lifetime doing field research

I've watched 'em line up at the bar like they're pickin' out a suit

Pointin' at a menu lookin' serious and cute

Make mine shaken never stirred

Put a twist of this in there

A drink with six ingredients and a flower in its hair

There's fruit floatin' in a glass little umbrellas in a row

Hard seltzer summer cooler so many fizzy cans you know

And at a wedding there they stand with little martinis high

Sippin' real slow to make sure everybody sees 'em try

Drink what you like I ain't callin' you wrong

But I like my drink with a little more song

I've chased a lot of flavors I've had a mighty few

Then one good bottle taught this old boy something new

When I got a little older got a little more refined

Drank German beers and high-end imports all the time

Now I order lighter beers when evenings run long

And yes I like-like Miller Lite Lite

Canadian this and small-batch that and notice the aroma

I'm just tryin' to find a whiskey that doesn't need a diploma

And some come from across the sea with no e in whiskey's name

They talk about peat smoke like it's part of the game

Well you can keep that smoky campfire in a bottle if you please

I want mine to taste like whiskey not a wet old cedar tree
